Stephanie A. Young was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Norfolk State University in 2000. Young served on Norfolk's School Board from 2012-2017. She was also a former president of the Booker T. Washington High School PTSA. Currently, Young is the owner of SY Energy Professionals, an energy conservation consulting company.
