Biography
Carrie Rheingans is a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 47th District . Born October 2, 1981, in Flint, she was first elected in 2022, sworn in January 2023, and reelected in 2024 for her second term. She resides in western Ann Arbor with her husband, Matthew Cunningham, and daughter, Autumn Cunningham Rheingans. Notable achievements include sponsoring HB5078 , which clarifies public entities' abilities to distribute naloxone to combat the opioid epidemic; she serves on committees such as Agriculture and Families and Veterans. Community roles include Washtenaw County Board of Health, Washtenaw Emergency Medical Services Commission, Ann Arbor NAACP, Communities Joined in Action, and American Federation of Teachers Local 6244.
