Biography

Samantha Steckloff is a Democratic State Representative serving her third term in Michigan's 19th House District, which includes parts of Farmington Hills, Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Southfield, Bloomfield Township, Bingham Farms, Franklin, and Southfield Township.

Samantha Rae Steckloff, born around 1984 in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a lifelong resident of the area and a breast cancer survivor. She is married to Brandon Sundheimer. A Democrat, she was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2020 for the 37th District, assuming office in 2021 after resigning from the Farmington Hills City Council, where she served two terms from 2013. Following redistricting, she won reelection in the 19th District in 2022 and again in 2024 with 65% of the vote. She serves on the Appropriations Committee and subcommittees including Higher Education and Community Colleges , Joint Capital Outlay , School Aid and Education, Transportation, and others.
