ABOUT
Dewayne C. Burns is a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He was first elected to the House in 2003 to represent District 17. He has been re-elected every four years since then. Burns serves as the Chairman of the Highways and Transportation Committee. He is also a member of the Accountability, Efficiency, and Transparency Committee; Banking and Financial Services Committee; Medicaid Committee; and Public Health and Human Services Committee. Burns graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. Prior to serving in the legislature, he worked in the insurance industry.
