Biography
Valoree Swanson is a Republican representative for Texas House District 150, which covers part of Harris County. Born on September 22, 1957, she is a sixth-generation Texan, mother of four grown children , and a retired businessperson and former real estate broker from Spring, Texas. First elected in 2016 after defeating incumbent Debbie Riddle in the Republican primary, she was sworn in on January 10, 2017, with her current term expiring in January 2027. Notable achievements include receiving the Republican Party of Texas's 2015 Volunteer of the Year award for Senate District 7, serving as a founding member of the Texas Freedom Caucus, and passing legislation on property rights, girls' sports fairness, Second Amendment protections, parents' rights, and medical freedom. She serves on the House Committees on Elections and Human Services, and voted against the 2023 impeachment of Attorney General Ken Paxton.
