Four Price - Texas State Representative
Walter Thomas Price IV, known as Four Price, was born on October 8, 1967, in Amarillo, Texas. He is a fourth-generation Texan and a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives. Price represented House District 87, which encompasses five Texas Panhandle counties: Carson, Hutchinson, Moore, Potter, and Sherman.
Political Experience
Price was first elected to the Texas House in 2010 and served seven consecutive terms representing his solidly Republican district. Throughout his tenure, he chaired multiple committees and demonstrated leadership in various policy areas:
- House Calendars Committee - responsible for scheduling proposed legislation for debate in the Texas House Chamber
- House Public Health Committee
- House Select Committee on Opioids & Substance Abuse
- House Select Committee on Mental Health

He was a co-author of House Bill 4 in 2013, historic legislation that created the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas . Price was known among rural GOP members for opposing school voucher proposals. In 2023, he announced he would not seek reelection after his seven terms.
