Biography
Shelby Slawson is a Republican representative for Texas House District 59, covering Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, and Hood counties. A native Texan from Stephenville, she is an attorney, entrepreneur, and small business owner, including roles as Chief Financial Officer at Erath Rentals and owner of Slawson Law, PLLC. Recognized as a leading conservative voice, she consistently ranks in the top 10% of the most conservative Texas House members and has been named the most conservative woman in the Texas House every session. Notable achievements include carrying the historic Texas Heartbeat Act in the House as a freshman, the most significant pro-life bill in Texas history, upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. She serves as Vice Chair of the Texas House Republican Caucus and on key committees like Calendars, State Affairs, Appropriations, Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence, Pensions, Investments & Financial Services, and Human Services. Slawson was the first freshman on Calendars since 1985 and the first on both Calendars and State Affairs since 1973.
