Biography
Dacia Grayber is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 28 . She serves as a firefighter and paramedic for Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, a career she pursued since deciding at age 10 despite barriers for women in the field. A community advocate and mother, Grayber was elected in 2020 to represent District 35 before redistricting to District 28, winning with 67.1% of the vote and cross-nomination from the Working Families Party. She is part of a wave of frontline medical workers elected during the 2020 pandemic and holds the position of Assistant Democratic Leader . Notable achievements include co-sponsoring a $190 million wildfire mitigation bill for risk maps, recovery programs, and wildland-urban interface changes; supporting legislation for pharmacists to dispense HIV prevention medications and conduct tests; and sponsoring House Bill 4113 to expand firefighter cancer compensation to include bladder and female reproductive cancers.
