Biography
Nancy Louise Nathanson is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 13 in Eugene, which includes neighborhoods such as Harlow, Cal Young, Northeast, Goodpasture, River Road, and Santa Clara. Born September 29, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, she has served as state representative since her first election in 2006. Notable achievements include passing bills on health care insurance rates, prescription drugs, consumer protection, renter fee protections, and public contract accountability; promoting statewide programs like school health centers, an earthquake early warning system, and wildfire detection cameras at the University of Oregon's Oregon Hazards Lab; and leading efforts on cybersecurity, climate resilience, addiction treatment, and economic development for small businesses and job training. She serves on boards including the National League of Cities Board of Directors, Federal Communications Commission Local and State Government Advisory Committee, and Lane County Public Safety Coordinating Council.
