Jose A. Giral was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1949. He graduated from Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Rio Piedras with a degree in business administration in 1972. After college, Giral worked as an executive in the banking and finance sectors before entering politics. In 1996, he successfully ran as the Popular Democratic Party candidate for mayor of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Giral served as mayor of Guaynabo for over 9 years before stepping down in 2005.read less
