Biography
Donna Bullock is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. She represents the 195th Legislative District, covering parts of North and West Philadelphia. Bullock won her seat in a special election held August 11, 2015. In the Pennsylvania House, she has served as Vice Chairwoman of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus and is known for advocating for the needs of her constituents, including vulnerable populations.
Education
Bullock is a Temple University alumna and earned a law degree from Temple Beasley School of Law. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
Political Experience
Bullock’s political and public service career includes significant work in Philadelphia government and community development. Prior to her election to the state House, she:
- Served as special assistant to Philadelphia City Council President Darrell L. Clarke
- Joined Clarke’s office in January 2011 as his Community and Economic Development Coordinator
- Worked in the past at a private law firm and with Philadelphia Community Legal Services, where she formed and advised nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and community groups
She has also volunteered and served on multiple boards, task forces, and coalitions, including the Smith Memorial Playground, the Columbia North YMCA Advisory Board, the West Philadelphia Child Care Network, and the Mayor’s Office of Community Service Advisory Board.
