Biography
Mandy Steele is a Democratic representative in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving District 33 in Allegheny County, which stretches from Sharpsburg to Natrona Heights along the Allegheny River. Elected in 2022 for the 2023 and 2025 terms, she is a mother of four who previously became the first woman and first Democrat elected to the Fox Chapel Borough Council in 2019. Notable achievements include founding and leading two nonprofit organizations, such as the Fox Chapel Parks Conservancy, and spearheading bipartisan efforts across 20 southwestern Pennsylvania communities to address environmental and public safety issues, including green infrastructure to control stormwater and prevent flooding. She led her community to adopt early solar installations for municipal functions, saving taxpayer money, and initiated efforts to remove racial slurs from place names. Her priorities as representative focus on economic revitalization of the Allegheny Valley, reducing air and water pollution, advancing clean energy, and creating jobs.
