Biography
David Thomas is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 65th district, which encompasses parts of Ashtabula and Trumbull counties. Born on April 5, 1993, in Ohio, he has deep roots in the region, with his grandparents and extended family residing within the district. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts in American Government and Politics from Washington and Lee University in 2015 and later obtained his Master of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University in 2018.
Before his tenure in the state legislature, Thomas served as the Ashtabula County Auditor from 2019 to 2024, following his role as Fiscal Officer for Austinburg Township from 2015 to 2019. His early involvement in public service began at age 16 when he joined Austinburg Township’s zoning board, advocating for business-friendly zoning regulations.
