Biography
Rachel B. Baker is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 27 in eastern Hamilton County, including suburbs of Cincinnati such as Indian Hill, Terrace Park, Anderson Township, and parts of others. A nurse researcher, social worker, and mother of three, she was first elected in 2022, sworn in on January 3, 2023, and won reelection in 2024 with 55.8% of the vote; she is currently serving her second term. Notable achievements include passing a bill in her first six months to modernize Ohio's adoption process, authoring over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, and volunteering as a court-appointed special advocate for children facing abuse and neglect. She serves as ranking member of the Aviation and Aerospace Committee and sits on the Behavioral Health, Health Provider Services, Public Health Policy, and Technology and Innovation Committees, focusing on healthcare access, mental health, public education funding, and good-paying jobs.
