Biography

Monica Robb Blasdel is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 79th District, which includes all of Carroll County and most of Columbiana County. A lifelong resident of Columbiana County, she was first elected in 2022 with 74% of the vote, succeeding Republican Tim Ginter after redistricting, and was reelected in 2024 with the same margin. She currently serves her second term as Vice Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee and as a member of the Energy, Tourism, and Transportation Committees. Notable achievements include her work in education, workforce development, regulatory reform, and broadband expansion during her time with the Ohio Lieutenant Governor's office. She is married to Chuck Blasdel, with two daughters, Presley and Raegan, and attends Greenford Christian Church.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated from Crestview High School in Columbiana; earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Akron in 2005.
  • Professional Experience: Began career in her family's small business; worked in marketing and sales, including roles at Cedar Fair Entertainment and Time Warner Cable Media Sales ; joined the Ohio Lieutenant Governor’s office in 2011, serving a 23-county region in Northeast Ohio.
  • Political Experience: Active in the Columbiana County Republican Party as Secretary/Treasurer and former Republican State Central Committeewoman for Ohio’s 33rd District; member of Ohio Farm Bureau, Columbiana County Township Association, and Mahoning Valley Republican Women’s Club. Elected to Ohio House in 2022; serving second term as of 2026.
