Dr. Akilah Weber is currently serving her first term as the California State Assemblymember representing the 79th Assembly District. She is a practicing physician who has served as the Chief Medical Officer for two of Southern California's largest healthcare networks. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly, Dr. Weber served in several medical leadership positions in San Diego. Dr. Weber graduated from UCLA and earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her residency and fellowship training at UC Irvine and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Her expertise as a board-certified pediatrician and public health advocate will help inform her work tackling issues such as healthcare access, COVID-19, economic inequity and public health.read less
