Biography
Jim Pressel is a Republican representative for District 20 in the Indiana House of Representatives, serving since 2016. Born on July 19, 1963, he grew up on a family farm in southern La Porte County, Indiana, and has lived his entire life there. A former carpenter and truck driver, he later became a business owner. Notable achievements include co-authoring 2019 legislation banning cellphone use while driving to prevent distracted driving. He began in local government before advancing to state politics when his predecessor became mayor of La Porte.
