Biography
Rick Niemeyer is a Republican state senator representing District 6 in the Indiana State Senate, which includes Benton and Newton counties and portions of Lake and Jasper counties. He resides in Lowell with his wife, Connie, and has a strong record of local civic involvement, including roles as former township trustee and assessor for West Creek Township, Lake County councilman from the Seventh District, chair of the Lake County Solid Waste Board, and member of the Lake County Planning Commission and Drainage Board Advisory Committee. Notable achievements include supporting tax cuts such as no state tax on tips, overtime pay, and loan interest on American-made vehicles in the 2026 session, as well as backing a 2023 law to gradually lower Indiana's income tax rate to 2.9% by 2027.
