Biography
Greg Taylor is a Democratic state senator representing District 33 in the Indiana Senate, which includes portions of Indianapolis in Center, Pike, Washington, and Wayne townships. First elected in 2008, he has served continuously as a Democrat in the minority party. Notable achievements include being selected as Senate Democratic Leader in 2020, becoming the first Black legislator to lead a party caucus in Indiana history; he held this role until 2024. Taylor serves on the Courts and Criminal Code, Judiciary, Public Policy, and Local Government committees, and has advocated for legislation addressing bias-motivated crimes. He works as Special Counsel at MWH Law Group, focusing on public finance, real estate, and business certifications, and previously managed projects for the Indiana Department of Commerce. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife Danielle and their three children.
