April McClain Delaney (MD-6)

Biography

April McClain Delaney, born on May 28, 1964, in Buhl, Idaho, is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Maryland's 6th Congressional District since January 3, 2025. The district encompasses all or parts of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties.

Raised as the daughter of a potato farmer, April learned the values of hard work and perseverance early in life. She is married to former Congressman John Delaney, who previously represented the same district from 2013 to 2019. Together, they have four daughters: Summer, Brooke, Lily, and Grace, and reside in Potomac, Maryland.
