Kevin Dykemia Chambliss was born in Macon, Georgia. He attended Mercer University and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1975. After graduation, Chambliss worked as a consultant at Robinson-Humphrey Company, an Atlanta investment banking firm. In 1978, Chambliss returned to his family farm in Moultrie, Georgia where he continues to grow corn, cotton, peanuts, and soybeans with his wife and family. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994 and served four terms before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002.read less
