Biography
LaVon Bracy Davis is a Democratic state senator representing Florida’s 15th district. She was born in Rochester, New York, and moved to Florida in 1990. Davis is based in Ocoee. Her background combines law with work in arts administration and advocacy. She has also served in Florida’s legislative system, first in the Florida House and later in the Florida Senate.
Education
Davis attended Dr. Phillips High School. She earned a BFA from Howard University and a JD from Florida A&M University College of Law.
Political Experience
Davis was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2022, serving the 40th district. She was reelected and served in the Florida House from November 8, 2022, until September 1, 2025. She then became a member of the Florida Senate for the 15th district, assuming office on September 2, 2025. She has been affiliated with multiple committees during her legislative tenure, including roles connected to judiciary and education administration.
