Biography
Fiona McFarland is a Republican representing Florida House District 73 . Born on November 15, 1985, she moved to Florida in 2018 and was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020, with subsequent reelections; her terms extend through 2028. A former U.S. Navy officer, she served on active duty from 2008-2016 and in the Reserves from 2016-2023, earning two Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals and four Navy Achievement Medals. She is married to Matthew Melton, with three children, and is Episcopalian. Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the Information Technology Budget & Policy Subcommittee, membership on key committees like Budget and State Affairs, and affiliations with the Military Officers Association, Navy League, and Operation Warrior Resolution .
