Hilda E. Santiago was born in Washington, D.C. and has been a resident of New Bedford for nineteen years. She has been active with the New Bedford's Hispanic Professional Women's Network and in organizing the Whaling City's first Latino Festival. Santiago serves on the New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and volunteers as a peer leader with the American Diabetes Association. She earned her Bachelor's degree in political science from Rutgers University and her Master's degree in public affairs and policy from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.read less
