Jason Rojas is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 9th Assembly District . He has served since 2009, currently as House Majority Leader since 2021, and previously chaired the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee. Notable achievements include being the first in his family to graduate college, proposing a 2015 housing bill to require 75% of new affordable housing in affluent areas to address segregation, and prioritizing affordable housing, zoning impacts on segregation, government finance, tax policy, and regional service sharing.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Attended East Hartford Public Schools; earned a history degree from the University of Connecticut and a master's in public policy from Trinity College.
• Political Experience: Began on the East Hartford Board of Education, then served on the East Hartford Town Council. Elected in 2008 after the incumbent stepped down, winning by 2,460 votes; reelected in 2010 , 2012 , 2014 , and 2016 . Outside politics, serves as Chief of Staff and Associate Vice President for External Affairs at Trinity College, and on boards including the East Hartford Alumni Association and Education Foundation, iQuilt Partnership, and Museum for Connecticut History and Culture.
