ABOUT
Charles J. Schwertner is a Republican member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 5. Schwertner was elected to the chamber in 2010. He currently serves as chair of the Committee on Health and Human Services. Prior to his election to the Senate, Schwertner served as Chair of the Williamson County Republican Party in 2008. He has also served as a precinct chair and has been an alternate delegate to several Texas Republican Conventions. Schwertner earned his B.S. in Nursing from Texas Christian University in 1982. His professional experience includes working as an orthopedic nurse.read less
