Biography

Heriberto “Eddie” Morales Jr. is a Democratic State Representative for Texas House District 74, a vast district spanning 11 counties and over 770 miles along the Texas-Mexico border, including Maverick, Val Verde, Kinney, Brewster, Culberson, El Paso , Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Presidio, Reeves, and Terrell. Born on January 24, 1975, in Eagle Pass, Texas, he is a lifelong resident of the border town, where he was raised with values of faith, family, and hard work. A pragmatic Democrat known for bipartisan collaboration, Morales has earned a reputation as one of Texas' most effective legislators, particularly for rural and border communities. Notable achievements include passing over 30 bills in his first term on border security, infrastructure, healthcare, public education, job creation, school safety, mental health, and environmental protection. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Energy Resources Committee, Member of the Elections Committee, and Member of the House Select Committee on Health Care Reform.
