Biography
Jamaal Bowman is a progressive Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 16th congressional district. He was elected to Congress in 2020, defeating a long-time incumbent in the Democratic primary. Bowman is a former educator and middle school principal known for his advocacy on education reform, social justice, and environmental issues. He champions policies aimed at addressing systemic inequalities, climate change, and expanding access to quality education.
