Biography
Greg Walker is a Republican state senator representing District 41 in the Indiana State Senate, which includes Bartholomew County and portions of Johnson County. Born on December 1, 1963, he was first elected in 2006 after defeating the incumbent Senate President Pro Tempore in the Republican primary and has served continuously since then. Notable positions include Chair of the Family and Children Services Committee, Ranking Member of the Elections and Ethics committees, and membership on the Pensions and Labor and Public Policy committees. He is a widower, father of four children , an elder at the Church of Christ in Columbus, and a board member of Christian Communicators of America. In August 2025, he announced he would not seek reelection. Professionally, he works as a Senior Consultant at Proffer Brainchild Analytics Innovation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Arts in business finance from Indiana University; Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Indiana State Senate in 2006 and reelected since, serving south central Indiana constituents. Key leadership roles include chairing Family and Children Services and ranking on Elections and Ethics committees. He opposed certain 2025 redistricting efforts, accusing involvement of Hatch Act violations.
