Biography
Brian Buchanan is a Republican state senator representing District 7 in the Indiana Senate, which includes Clinton County and portions of Boone, Hendricks, and Montgomery counties. He assumed office on February 12, 2018, and serves as ranking member of the Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, with additional roles on the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee and Education and Career Development Committee. His priorities include lowering taxes, paying down state debt, balancing the budget, and supporting military and law enforcement. Outside politics, he works as a sales manager at his family's business, Buchanan Hauling and Rigging Inc., which operates over 300 tractor-trailers and a logistics management division.
Education and Political Experience
Buchanan previously served as executive director of the Indiana FFA Foundation for six years, after eight years with the organization overall; he remains involved as an AgriInstitute board member and Indiana FFA Leadership Center Committee member. He was elected to the Indiana State Senate in 2018 and continues to advocate conservative principles focused on individual freedom and limited government.
