Biography

Brendan Francis Boyle, born on February 6, 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 2nd congressional district since 2019. He previously served Pennsylvania's 13th district from 2015 to 2019. Boyle is the son of Irish immigrants; his father, Francis, emigrated from County Donegal and worked as a janitor for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority , while his mother, Eileen, was a school crossing guard.

In Congress, Boyle has been a vocal advocate for working families, focusing on issues such as wage stagnation, job insecurity, and the future of work. He co-founded the Blue Collar Caucus to address these concerns. In 2023, he was elected as the Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, becoming the first Pennsylvania Congressman to hold this position.
