Biography
Matt Pierce is a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 61 since his election in 2002. He serves as Assistant Democratic Floor Leader and ranking minority member of the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee, and sits on the Courts and Criminal Code Committee, Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee, and Statutory Committee on Ethics. Notable achievements include prior service as Bloomington City Council member , Chief of Staff to Congressman Baron Hill , and principal clerk of the Indiana House ; he is also a Senior Lecturer in the Media School at Indiana University Bloomington since 2003, specializing in telecommunications law and policy, and holds an Extra Class amateur radio license.
