Biography
Kristen Aston Arrington is a Democratic state senator representing Florida Senate District 25, which encompasses Osceola County and part of Orange County. Born in Holiday, Florida, she was elected to the Florida Senate on November 5, 2024, after serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2020 to 2024. She succeeded retiring Senator Victor Torres and narrowly defeated Republican Jose Martinez with 51.41% of the vote in the general election.
Arrington is married to Osceola County Commissioner Brandon Arrington and is active in community organizations including the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando, Osceola Chamber of Commerce, Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, and the St. Cloud Democrats.
Education
Arrington earned an Associate of Arts degree from Valencia College.
Political Experience
Arrington has built her career as a small business owner, operating a marketing and consulting firm for over 15 years. She has previously worked as a realtor, property manager, and in the transportation industry. Her professional background in business has shaped her advocacy for strengthening small business communities.
During her tenure in the House of Representatives, she supported bipartisan measures including the Live Local Act aimed at increasing affordable housing supply. Her legislative priorities focus on education funding, transportation infrastructure improvements, affordable housing opportunities, and worker wages for Central Florida residents.
In the Florida Senate, Arrington serves in prominent committee positions, including as Vice Chair of Commerce and Tourism. She also holds memberships on the Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Environment, and General Government; Appropriations Committee on Transportation, Tourism, and Economic Development; Environment and Natural Resources; Fiscal Policy; Governmental Oversight and Accountability; Transportation; and various joint committees. She received the Florida Association of Counties Legislative Excellence Award and the Florida League of Cities Legislative Appreciation Award in 2024.
