Biography
Senator Gary Byrne
Gary Byrne is an American politician and businessman serving as a Republican member of the Indiana State Senate representing District 47, which includes Harrison and Washington counties and most of Floyd County. He assumed office on February 14, 2022, after being appointed to succeed Erin Houchin, and was elected to a full term in November 2022.
Byrne is co-owner and president of Byrne Satellite Systems, a position he has held since 1983. He and his wife, Angie, reside on their family farm and are proud parents of three sons and grandparents of seven grandchildren.

He also served as president of the North Harrison Cal Ripken Baseball Board from 1997 to 2004 and coached boys' baseball and basketball for 10 years.

Byrne has received recognition including State Senator of the Year from Indiana Aviation and Champion for Life from Indiana Right to Life . He is a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
