Darius K. Kila was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2012. After college, he worked in Honolulu as a substitute teacher. In 2017, Kila started a political blog focused on local Honolulu politics. The following year, he ran unsuccessfully for the Hawaii State House of Representatives. Though he lost that election, it inspired him to continue being politically active in his community.read less
