Terez Amato is a Democrat representing District 11 in the Hawaii State House of Representatives, covering portions of Mā‘alaea, Kīhei, Keawakapu, Wailea, Mākena, Kanahena, and Keone‘ōio on Maui. She has served since 2022 and is vice chair of the Higher Education Committee. Notable achievements include her prior roles as a Sierra Club board member, member of the Maui Farmers Union, and volunteer with organizations such as the Surfrider Foundation, Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project, Leeward Haleakala Watershed Restoration Partnership, and West Maui Mountains Watershed Partnership.

Education and Political Experience

Amato grew up in South and Central Maui and graduated from St. Anthony Jr./Sr. High School in Wailuku. Her political experience includes election to the Hawaii House in 2022 as an advocate for the people, with ongoing service in the Democratic Majority Caucus. In the current session, she has initiated 14 bills.
