Allows a person to be eligible for a license as a professional engineer if the person has completed four years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional level government employment performing lawful experience in review of engineered plans and calculations under the direct supervision of an applicably licensed engineer.

SB1533 - Relating To The University Of Hawaii.

Requires the University of Hawaii to establish collective goals to accommodate the dietary needs of every student by increasing plant-based proteins and meaningful daily options for students with various allergies for meals eligible for purchase with a meal plan. Beginning January 1, 2035, requires plant-based proteins to be the primary protein in fifty per cent of all meals eligible for purchase with a meal plan. Requires annual reports to the Legislature.

Specifies that in any civil action brought by the petitioner seeking compensation of any kind or nature whatsoever as a result of, related to, or arising from a conviction and imprisonment for crimes for which the person was actually innocent, any recovery will offset, dollar for dollar, the total award made in the civil action against whom claims are asserted. Establishes deadlines for each report type. Requires the Department of Health to log all reports in a database designed for easy public posting. Requires all facilities inspected by the Department of Health to maintain certain records and notify the Executive Office on Aging, Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and appropriate county offices on aging of initial inspection visit dates.

SB1168 - Relating To Expungement Of Criminal Records.

Expands eligibility for, and automates, the expungement of arrest and conviction records if certain criteria are met, including the lack of a conviction record for a specified time period following the date of an arrest, conviction, or release from incarceration. Requires the Attorney General to issue automatic expungement orders for certain arrests and convictions beginning 12/1/2025. Requires the Judiciary to automatically seal or remove information for certain arrests and convictions from publicly accessible databases beginning 12/1/2025.
