Overview / Purpose

HB 2692 creates a temporary State Procurement Diversity and Inclusion Task Force under the Illinois Procurement Code to study and recommend ways to increase representation of minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ persons in corporate diversity and in State of Illinois procurement opportunities and awards. Membership and operations

The Secretary of State (or designee) serves as Chair.

Membership includes appointees from legislative leaders (both chambers and party leaders), two chief procurement officers of state agencies (appointed by the Governor), and five business representatives (representing women‑owned, minority‑owned, disability‑owned, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses) appointed by a mix of the Governor and legislative leaders.

The Task Force must hold at least five meetings. All members must be appointed as soon as practicable and no later than September 1, 2025.
