Senator Zaynab Mohamed represents Minnesota Senate District 63 as a member of the *Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party *. Elected in 2022 at age 25, she is the youngest elected female senator in Minnesota history and one of the first Black women to serve in the Minnesota Senate, alongside Erin Maye Quade and Clare Oumou Verbeten. Born in Somalia, she immigrated to the United States at age nine and identifies as a Black Muslim woman, immigrant, and young organizer. Notable positions include vice chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Committee.
