Zack Anthony Forde-Hawkins is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 31 since 2019. He serves his fourth term in the 2025-2026 session, having won his initial election in 2018 with 81% of the vote and securing re-election in 2020 and beyond. A resident of Durham with his wife Tracey and three sons , Hawkins is a Christian and a member of the Progressive House Caucus. Notable achievements include recognition as an NCCU 2018 Forty Under Forty Honoree for his leadership under 40, initiatives to boost voter registration and combat suppression as 1st Vice Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party, and co-chairing the General Assembly’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Caucus—motivated by his two sons' autism diagnoses. He has advanced IDD resources, including expanded access beyond major hubs and $3 million in workforce development funding for NC State and NC Central University.
