Biography

Zack Fields is a Democrat representing District 17 in the Alaska House of Representatives. His full name is William Zachary Fields, and he was born on July 30, 1984. Fields has served in the Alaska State Legislature since 2019, continuing through the 31st, 32nd, 33rd, and 34th legislative sessions .

Education

Fields earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Virginia.

Political Experience

Prior to his election to the Alaska House of Representatives, Fields worked as a Workforce Development Coordinator for the State of Alaska. He has extensive experience in public service, having worked as a policy aide at local, state, and federal levels, including work for a member of Congress and a former Alaska Labor Commissioner.

As a state representative, Fields has been active in sponsoring legislation addressing various policy areas. His recent bill sponsorships include measures on retail theft and marketplace sales tax, pupil-teacher ratios, correctional facility placements, and the Permanent Fund Dividend income threshold.
