Biography
Zach Duckworth is a Republican Minnesota State Senator representing District 57, which includes communities in Dakota and Scott Counties such as Lakeville, Elko New Market, Credit River Township, and Eureka Township. He is currently serving his second term as an assistant leader, a member of the Education Policy and Commerce committees, and the Republican lead for the Higher Education committee. A Major in the Minnesota Army National Guard, he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer through the University of Minnesota’s ROTC program, awarded the Bronze Star Medal for service as a Platoon Leader in Kuwait and Iraq , and deployed during civil unrest in Minnesota and to the Middle East. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Lakeville Fire Department and previously chaired the Lakeville School Board. Duckworth grew up in Lakeville, attended Lakeville High School, and is married to his high school sweetheart Carly; they have three children.
