Yvonne Lopez is a Democratic Assemblywoman representing New Jersey's 19th Legislative District, which includes Carteret, Woodbridge, South Amboy, Perth Amboy, and Sayreville. Born on July 28, 1957, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, she currently serves as Deputy Speaker of the General Assembly, Chair of the Housing Committee, and a member of committees on Transportation and Independent Authorities, Financial Institutions and Insurance, and Community Development and Women's Affairs. She is also involved with the New Jersey Legislative Latino Caucus and chairs the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators Housing Task Force. Previously, she served as a Commissioner on the New Jersey Complete Count Commission and the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission, and as Chair of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators Latino Voting and Elections Task Force. Notable achievements include founding the Boys and Girls Clubs of Perth Amboy and serving on boards such as the Middlesex County Human Services Advisory Council, Rutgers University Corporate Advisory Board, and others.
