Yvonne Hayes Hinson is a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 21 . Born on November 30 in Gainesville, Florida, she resides in Gainesville and is a Methodist with recreational interests in community activism and volunteerism. She has two children, Kamelya and Ivan, and five grandchildren: Kamaya, Khambrel, Tierra, London, and Alexis. Notable achievements include serving as the Democratic nominee for Florida's 3rd Congressional District in 2018, Gainesville City Commissioner from 2012-2015, and former Finance Chair of the Gainesville Housing Authority Governing Board. She was elected to the Florida House in 2020 for District 20, reelected and redistricted to District 21 in 2022, with terms extending through 2028.
