Yashira M. Lebrón Rodríguez is a Puerto Rican politician born on July 24, 1981, in Bayamón. She represents District 8 in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives as a member of the Partido Nuevo Progresista *. First sworn in on October 23, 2014, as the first woman to hold the District 8 seat after filling a vacancy, she was reelected in 2016, 2020, and most recently on November 5, 2024, for the 2025-2028 term. Notable achievements include serving as Vicepresidenta of the Bayamón Municipal Legislature prior to her House role and being selected in January 2025 as *Vicepresidenta of the House of Representatives. She currently chairs the Commission on Consumer, Banking and Insurance Affairs and serves as spokesperson for the Commission on Integral Youth Development, Retention, and Fostering of New Puerto Rican Talent. Other committee roles include Affairs of Women and Equity, Cooperatives and Non-Profit Organizations, and Social Welfare.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from Dr. Agustín Stahl High School in Bayamón. Earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. Holds a master's degree in criminal justice from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, Metropolitan Campus.
• Political Experience: Began as President of the PNP Youth in Bayamón. Served as Director of the Senate Government Commission and Auxiliary Subsecretary of the Guaynabo Municipal Legislature . Vicepresidenta of the Bayamón Municipal Legislature until 2014. Elected to House District 8 in 2016 and 2020 general elections. Priorities include gender violence, child safety, elderly services, and domestic workers' rights, exemplified by projects like Cámara 2383 for a Domestic Employees' Bill of Rights.
