Biography
Yadira D. Caraveo is a Democratic politician and pediatrician born on December 23, 1980. She previously represented Colorado's 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House from 2023 to 2025, becoming Colorado's first Latina member of Congress, and served Colorado House District 31 from 2019 to 2023. Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation on climate action, environmental justice, affordable insulin, paid family leave, and fentanyl trafficking; she was named a White House Champion of Change by President Obama for climate advocacy.
Education and Political Experience
- Attended public schools in Adams County; earned a bachelor's degree from Regis University ; medical degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine .
