Biography
Senator Wylie Galt
Errol Wylie Galt was born in 1984 and is a Republican member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 39. He represents the communities of White Sulphur Springs, Belt, Stanford, and Harlowton. Galt assumed his current Senate seat on January 6, 2025, with his term set to end on January 3, 2029.
Political Experience
Galt's political career spans over a decade in Montana state government. He first served in the Montana House of Representatives representing District 83 from 2013 to 2015, focusing on issues including agriculture, natural resources, and taxation.
After a brief absence, Galt returned to the House in 2017, this time representing District 30. During his tenure in the House, he rose through leadership ranks, serving as Speaker Pro Tempore from 2018 to 2020. In 2021, Galt was elected Speaker of the Montana House of Representatives, a position he held until 2023 when he became term-limited.
In 2024, Galt transitioned to the Montana State Senate, winning his District 39 seat with 56% of the vote. As a senator, he continues to advocate for policies that promote economic growth, support rural communities, and protect Montana's unique way of life.
