Biography
Willy Chotzen is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 46 in Southeast Portland, including neighborhoods such as Montavilla, Mount Tabor, South Tabor, Foster-Powell, Lents, the Jade District, Mount Scott-Arleta, Brentwood-Darlington, and Errol Heights. Elected in November 2024, he is serving his first term and was born on April 30, 1991, in Ashland, Oregon. A lifelong advocate for equity and justice, Chotzen previously worked as a public school teacher and public defender, focusing on uplifting marginalized communities; he now lives in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood with his wife, a Portland Public Schools educator, and their two young children. Notable committee assignments include the Committee on Commerce & Consumer Protection and the Ways and Means Sub-Committee on Public Safety. He won his election with 79.1% of the vote .
