Biography
Willis E. Blackshear Jr. is a Democratic state senator representing Ohio's 6th Senate District, which includes areas such as Centerville, Dayton, Jefferson Township, Kettering, Miami Township, Moraine, Oakwood, Riverside, Trotwood, Washington Township, West Carrollton, and parts of Carlisle and Springboro. A lifelong Ohioan born in Dayton, he serves on committees including Commerce and Labor, Criminal Justice, Agriculture and Rural Development, and General Government . Notable priorities include making Ohio more affordable for families, advocating for mental health, investing in public education, and bridging the Statehouse with communities. He won his Senate seat in November 2024 and previously served two terms in the Ohio House , elected in 2020 with 79% of the vote.
