William Joseph Wivell is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 2A since 2015. Appointed to the House on March 13, 2015, and sworn in on March 16, 2015, he was first elected in November 2018 and has served continuously since January 9, 2019. Previously, he served on the Washington County Board of Commissioners from 1998 to 2010 and from 2014 to 2015. Notable positions include Chair of the Washington County House Delegation , current service on the Economic Matters Committee with subcommittees on Economic Development, Housing and Real Property, and Land Use and Zoning , prior roles on Appropriations and Environment and Transportation committees, and membership in the Tri-County Council for Western Maryland . He is a business manager at St. James School, an endowment life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Wivell attends St. Rita & St. Mary's Catholic Church.
